Welcome to the Japan Society for Medical Education (JSME).

Japan owes the quality of its healthcare without doubt to its excellent medical education. For medical human resource development, every step, from undergraduate education, to postgraduate rotations, specialty training and thereafter, is essential. To this purpose, JSME actively collaborates with medical schools as well as teaching hospitals and specialty associations.

We are engaged in continuous dialogue with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and other health professions stakeholders such as the Association of Japanese Medical Colleges (AJMC) and the Japan Medical Association (JMA). We support medical education on a scientific basis.

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, JSME continues to communicate with educational organizations around the globe.

Membership is open to anyone interested in the field of medical education. We look forward to your involvement with JSME.
